Our daily appointments are usually booked up quickly, so please think carefully about whether you need to see the doctor urgently, or whether your health concern can wait a few days to be discussed with your doctor, or is a routine check up or request.

Booking a same-day appointment
If you need to be seen the same day, telephone the surgery on 024 76 961370 and press 1 from the menu where your call will be answered in turn.
We operate a ‘telephone triage’ system at Priory Gate: if you feel that your condition requires same day attention, your contact details will be taken and a clinician will normally ring you back that morning or afternoon to arrange for urgent advice or an appointment.
- Please ensure that you provide up to date contact numbers and that you are available to answer the call back to avoid disappointment.
- We will normally not try to contact you more than two times.
- If using a mobile number please ensure that you have adequate reception to receive a call.
- Please do not use phones with “Call Blockers” for anonymous numbers
- Please try to avoid ringing at busy times such as 08:00-09:30 for non urgent enquiries.

Why aren’t there any appointments for my doctor today?
Your usual doctor may be part-time, on leave or involved in administrative matters . You can help us. Remember to book ahead for routine things - like you would for dental check ups or a service for your car. Urgent cases or emergencies will be rung back and assessed on the phone and seen by appointment if needed. Please try to stay away from A&E unless you have a life threatening “999” emergency. Remember that your local pharmacy or 111 can often help too. The Pharmacy is able to provide help and advice on ‘minor’ illness such as coughs, colds and flu-like symptoms
